Overview

KICS is an electronic work system by which the four criminal justice agencies (police, prosecution service, courts, and the Ministry of Justice) perform investigation, indictment, trial, and execution work through the standard information system, and jointly use the resulting information and other documents.

Summary proceedings for drunken- or unlicensed-driving cases can be completely electronically conducted, replacing the existing offline documents with online electronic documents.

At the criminal justice portal (www.kics.go.kr), the general public can electronically inquire about the progress of a case and about court records anytime, and can electronically apply for civil services.
